1. India will head the first Asian Youth Hostelling Union. Union will represent all youth hostel organisations in the continent that will promote efforts to provide adequate accommodation to young people. Mohammad Shafi Pandit, a retired IAS officer from Jammu and Kashmir, will be chairperson of the newly created body which will take forward the youth hostelling movement in the Asian region.

भारत एशियन यूथ हॉस्टलिंग यूनियन का पहला अध्यक्ष होगा। यूनियन, महाद्वीप के सभी युवा छात्रावास संगठनों का प्रतिनिधित्व करेगा और युवाओं के लिए उचित आवास की व्यवस्था के लिए प्रयासों को बढ़ावा देगा। जम्मू-कश्मीर के रहने वाले सेवानिवृत्त आईएएस अधिकारी मोहम्मद शफी पंडित नव गठित निकाय के प्रमुख होंगे जो एशिया क्षेत्र में युवाओं के छात्रावास आंदोलन को आगे ले जाएगा।

2. The Union Territory of Chandigarh has been conferred with CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards for 2014-15 under the category of state for sustained excellence in e-governance. This award recognises Chandigarh for its key projects like Sampark, gram-sampark, e-kosk, online payment of utility bills, campus wide area network, online college admission portal, grievance redressal system and e-stamping.

केंद्रशासित प्रदेश चंडीगढ़ को ई-प्रशासन में सतत उत्कृष्टता बनाये रखने वाले राज्य की श्रेणी में 2014-15 के लिए सीएसआई-निहिलेंट ई-गवनेर्ंस पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया। इस पुरस्कार द्वारा संपर्क, ग्राम-संपर्क, यूटिलिटी बिल्स का ऑनलाइन भुगतान, परिसर एरिया नेटवर्क, ऑनलाइन कॉलेज प्रवेश पोर्टल, ई-स्टांप जैसी प्रमुख परियोजनाओं के लिए चंडीगढ़ की पहल को मान्यता देता है।

3. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) kept its economic growth forecast for India unchanged at 7.4 per cent for the current financial year and 7.8 per cent for the next fiscal.

एशियाई विकास बैंक ने भारत के लिये चालू वित्त वर्ष में आर्थिक वृद्धि दर 7.4 प्रतिशत तथा अगले वित्त वर्ष के लिये 7.8 प्रतिशत रहने का अपना अनुमान बरकरार रखा है।

4. To address pipeline safety concerns, state-run energy major GAIL and National Remote Sensing Centre, a unit of ISRO, have launched an innovative surveillance geo-portal called 'Bhuvan-GAIL Portal' for utilising space technology for its pipeline application.

पाइपलाइन की सुरक्षा सम्बंधी चिंताओं को दूर करने के लिए सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की ऊर्जा प्रमुख कंपनी गेल और इसरो की इकाई नेशनल रिमोट सेंसिंग सैंटर, ने मिलकर एक नया निगरानी भू-पोर्टल 'भुवन-गेल पोर्टल' शुरू किया है। इसके माध्यम से गेल अपनी पाइपलाइन एप्लिकेशन में अंतरिक्ष प्रौद्योगिकी का इस्तेमाल करेगी।

5. The government-constituted committee on Goods and Services Tax (GST) headed by Arvind Subramanian, the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA), submitted its report to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The committee recommended that the standard GST rate be in the range of 16.9-17.9%. The standard rate would apply to most goods and services under the new indirect tax regime. The committee also recommended that 1% tax proposed to be levied on the inter-state trade of goods to help the manufacturing states be done away with.

मुख्य आर्थिक सलाहकार अरविन्द सुब्रह्मण्यम की अध्यक्षता वाली गुड्स एण्ड सर्विस टैक्स (जीएसटी) पर गठित समिति ने अपनी रिपोर्ट केन्द्रीय वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली को सौंपी। इस समिति ने सिफारिश की है कि जीएसटी की मानक दर को 16.9 से 17.9% के बीच में रखा जाय। यह दर जीएसटी के तहत स्थापित नए अप्रत्यक्ष कर ढांचे में अधिकांश सेवाओं तथा उत्पादों पर लगायी जायेगी। समिति ने यह सिफारिश भी की है कि उत्पादों के अंतर-राजकीय व्यापार के दौरान प्रस्तावित 1% कर को भी समाप्त किया जाय ताकि इससे उत्पादन करने वाले राज्यों को लाभ मिले।

6. The first India International Science Festival (IISF) was organised at IIT-Delhi. The aim of this festival is to support flagship programs like Make in India, Digital India, Start-ups India, Smart Villages, Smart Cities, etc. initiated by the Govt. of India.

प्रथम भारतीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान महोत्सव (आईआईएसएफ) आईआईटी-दिल्ली में आयोजित किया गया। इस महोत्सव का उद्देश्य सरकार द्वारा शुरू किए गए ‘मेक इन इंडिया’, ‘डिजिटल इंडिया’, ‘स्टार्ट-अप इंडिया’, ‘स्मार्ट विलेजेज एंड ‘स्मार्ट सिटीज’जैसे महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रमों को बढ़ावा देना है।

7. A broad coalition of nations, river basin organizations, business and civil society announced the creation of the International Paris Pact on Water and Climate Change Adaptation. The announcement was made at the Water Resilience Focus event held under the Lima to Paris Action Agenda on climate change.

विभिन्न देशों, नदी बेसिन संगठनों, व्यापार एवं नागरिक समाज के व्यापक गठबंधनों ने जल और जलवायु परिवर्तन अनुकूलन पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय पेरिस संधि के निर्माण की घोषणा की। जलवायु परिवर्तन पर लीमा में पेरिस कार्रवाई एजेंडा के तहत आयोजित वाटर रीसाइलेंस फोकस इवेंट में यह घोषणा की गई।

9. Ola– India’s largest app-based taxi aggregator announced forming an alliance with four companies--- China’s Didi Kuaidi, US-based Lyft and Southeast Asia’s GrabTaxi . The main objective of this alliance is to strongly take on Uber, their biggest rival globally. This global alliance has been promoted by Japan’s SoftBank and China’s leading online marketplace Alibaba.
