State Bank of India (SBI) has invited applications from\r\neligible and interested candidates to fill up the posts of Probationary\r\nOfficers (PO). The candidates can send in the applications by May 2.
\r\n\r\nSelection Procedure:
\r\n\r\nPhase-I: Preliminary Examination (100 marks)
\r\n\r\nDuration: Composite time of 1 hour
\r\n\r\nPreliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for\r\n100 marks will be conducted online. This test will be of 1 hour duration\r\nconsisting of 3 Sections as follows:
\r\n\r\n1. English Language: 30 questions of 1 mark
\r\n\r\n2. Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions of 1 mark each
\r\n\r\n3. Reasoning Ability: 35 questions of 1 mark each
\r\n\r\nTotal: 100 questions of 1 mark each
\r\n\r\nPhase - II: Main Examination (250 marks)
\r\n\r\nMain Examination will consist of:
\r\n\r\n1. Objective Tests for 200 marks and
\r\n\r\n2. Descriptive Test for 50 marks
\r\n\r\nBoth the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online.\r\nCandidates will have to answer descriptive test by typing on the computer.\r\nImmediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be\r\nadministered.
\r\n\r\n(i) Objective Test: The Objective Test of 2 hour duration\r\nconsists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:
\r\n\r\na) Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary,\r\nComprehension etc.)
\r\n\r\nb) Test of General Awareness, Marketing &Computers
\r\n\r\nc) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
\r\n\r\nd) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
\r\n\r\nThe candidates are required to qualify in each of the tests\r\nby securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
\r\n\r\n(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 1 hour\r\nduration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing &\r\nEssay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by\r\nsecuring passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
\r\n\r\nPhase - III: Group Discussion (20 marks) and Interview (30\r\nmarks)
\r\n\r\nThe aggregate marks of the candidates qualifying in both the\r\nObjective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in\r\neach category. An adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by\r\nthe Bank, will be called for the Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying\r\nmarks in the Group Discussion and Interview will be as decided by the Bank.
\r\n\r\nFinal Selection
\r\n\r\nThe marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I)\r\nwill not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in the Main\r\nExamination (Phase-II) will be added to the marks obtained in the GD and\r\nInterview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.

\r\n\r\nThe candidates who have qualified for the GD and Interview\r\nphase and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the\r\nofficial SBI website.
