Google has said that the 'Undo Send' feature, to retract misdirected or inappropriate emails, has been made an official feature on the company's popular Gmail email service this week.Till now, the 'Undo Send' feature - which basically holds back an email for a few seconds - was hidden away in the Labs menu for the last six years. The availability of the feature in Google's experimental labs necessitated Gmail users to take some additional steps to avail the functionality of withdrawing a sent email.With Google having made changes to the 'Settings' option this week, the 'Undo Send' mechanism has now become a standard safeguard for Gmail users who want to retract a particular email soon after sending it. The 'Undo Send' feature gives Gmail users the option of cancelling the delivery of an email within a span of 30 seconds after hitting the 'Send' button.

The chorus against the IIM Draft Bill is getting louder. On Friday, some more voices from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, joined in the clamour for killing the proposed Bill in its current form at the two-day annual “IIMA Society Conference 2015” held on the campus. Incidentally, just a day earlier, IIMA Board chairman A M Naik had called the Bill, put up by the HRD ministry for public consultation, as “detrimental to the interest of management studies” in India. At a panel discussion on “IIM Bill: Where will it lead IIMs to?” at the conference; IIMA director Ashish Nanda made presentation laying out the major concern areas in the IIM Draft Bill. was by many former and present IIMA Faculty and participants who gave their suggestions. #* Good voter turnout in Aruvikkara by-polls
People braved an overcast sky to turn up in large numbers from morning on Saturday to cast their franchise for the politically crucial by-poll in Aruvikkara, necessitated following the untimely death of senior Congress leader G. Karthikeyan during his tenure as Speaker in the State Assembly.Around two-and-a half hours after polling began a record 20.1 per cent of voters exercised their franchise. The constituency recorded an over all vote per cent of 70. 21 per cent in the 2011 Assembly polls.Long queues of men and women were seen in majority of the 154 polling booths from early morning. Despite Ramzan fasting, many Muslim voters were seen in large numbers.Candidates in the fray made sure that their supporters reached polling booths early morning to avoid inconvenience in case of rains. Polling so far was peaceful and no political party has made any complaints about the polling process. Heavy police force was deployed in all the booths to ward off poll related untoward incidents.The constituency is witnessing a three cornered contest with Mr. Karthikeyan’s s son as the Congress candidate, former Speaker M. Vijayakumar as the CPI (M) candidate and former Union Minister O. Rajagopal as the BJP nominee.
#* Kuwait bombing prompts oil security boost
KUWAIT says it has raised security at oil facilities in the emirate to maximum level after a deadly mosque bombing claimed by the Islamic State group.FRIDAY'S suicide attack on a mosque in the capital used by members of Kuwait's Shi'ite minority killed 26 people and wounded 227, and was one of the deadliest in the emirate's history."Kuwait Petroleum Corp and its subsidiaries have raised security measures to the maximum level following the terrorist bombing on Friday," the state-owned firm's spokesman Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Sabah said in a statement."All refineries, oilfields and oil sector operations have been placed under heightened security measures to maintain normal operations without being affected by the terrorist threat," he added.Security at oil facilities had already been beefed up in March following the launch of a Saudi-led air campaign against Shi'ite rebels in Yemen in which Kuwait has been taking part. Police have detained several suspects for questioning in connection with Friday's bombing, the interior ministry said.
