Eight Assam Rifles jawans killed in NSCN ambush in Nagaland
Dimapur/Kohima: Eight Assam Rifles personnel were killed, six injured and another four reported missing on Sunday when militants triggered a powerful blast and ambushed a convoy of the paramilitary force at a remote location in Nagaland along the border with Myanmar, officials said. The incident took place at Changlang Su area in Mon district around 2.30 p.m., when the troopers were proceeding to their company camp from Tobu area.



Moga bus molestation: Victim’s body cremated after autopsy
Four days after 13-year-old Arshdeep Kaur died after being allegedly molested and pushed from a bus of Orbit Aviation Pvt Ltd, co-owned by Deputy Punjab CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, her body was sent for autopsy and later cremated at her village Landeke Sunday evening. Police reports said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal visited Landeke and met the victim’s family, but did not attend the cremation.

About 4,800 migrants were plucked from boats off the coast of Libya on the weekend and 10 bodies were recovered, Italy’s coast guard and navy said, in what looked to be the biggest rescue operation of its kind so far this year.
